Information We Collect: This section of our Privacy Policy describes the categories of information collected by C.A.R.E. All data that we collect are processed and stored in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. We DO NOT collect any data through our website and do not track visitors. E-mail information is collected and maintained only as a requirement for communications initiated by visitors. Personal information obtained through this means remains secure behind a Firewall. Personal information obtained through the CanadaHelps.org Portal is subject to the CanadaHelps Privacy Policy with the following notes: CanadaHelps.org allows visitors/donors to provide personal information to C.A.R.E. as an option. Where anonymity is required and requested (you have the option not to provide information), information is not disclosed to C.A.R.E. Under this circumstance, C.A.R.E. has no access to any information provided through the CanadaHelps.org Portal other than donation amount submitted. Where information is provided openly through CanadaHelps.org, this information is made available to C.A.R.E. We however, do not use this information for any future unsolicited communications unless specified or requested by donor. This information is furthermore never shared, sold or made otherwise available to any party or agency outside of C.A.R.E. Payment information for donations made through the CanadaHelps.org Portal is never disclosed to the individual beneficiary charity and remains within the secure records of CanadaHelps.org.

If you choose to provide us with personal information, such as by sending us an e-mail or by filling out a form with your personal information and submitting it to us through our website and/or email, we collect the personal information that you provide to us only if you indicated that you wish to receive future communications from us. We will otherwise not collect the personally identifiable information that you provided. Personal information, such as your name and full address, is required when making donations through traditional methods (eg.: via cheque) if a Tax Receipt is requested. This is a requirement of the Canada Revenue Agency. If no tax receipt is required, then personal information may be withheld and donation will be classified as anonymous non-tax receipted. Disclosure of personal information is also required when applying for adoption or fostering a rescue animal through our organization.

We may disclose information we collect about you in other circumstances as required or permitted by law. For example, C.A.R.E. reserves the right to disclose personally identifiable information, when we believe such disclosure is appropriate to cooperate with an investigation of activities claimed to be unlawful, or to protect the rights or property of C.A.R.E. or others. It is also possible that in the future C.A.R.E. may partner with another organization to continue to operate as a combined entity. In the event that this occurs, it is possible that our supporters / donors /adopters volunteers information may be transferred to the new entity. In such an event, we will update this policy to reflect any change in ownership or control of your personal information.
