Bringing
a companion animal home ISa Big Deal.
This is going to be a member of your family who is dependent
on you for a good long while, so be prepared to accept
the life-long responsibility.
Any seasoned pet guardian will tell you having a pet
can bring many joys; with this also come restrictions
and obligations. Please take into consideration what
life changes you may go through over the years: will
you be able to accomodate your pet into these life changes,
will you accept the compromises required to accomodate
your pet? If you are unsure about whether you can keep
your pet in the future, it is best to wait until your
life is more settled. Shelters and pounds are brimming
with animals who have been surrendered due to "life
changes". The surrender or abandonment of pets
is a substantial contributor to the problem of "pet
overpopulation"; the other is over-breeding. Adoption
Fee applicable. If seriously interested in adoption,
please take the time to complete either the Cat
or Dog
Adoption Applications and email them back to us.

Please
make informed choices when getting a pet. Do Not
take one home until you have educated yourself about the
requirements for general and veterinary care and are prepared
to meet these requirements. If not prepared for the fifteen
plus year commitment, please DO NOT get a pet. First and
foremost, pet guardianship is a responsibility and it
takes money and time to care for them properly. And, please,
please, please... do not purchase animals from pet stores:
Doing so subsidizes unethical breeders and their practices
and perpetuates the problem.
Please
note we strive to match adoptive parents with pets suitable to
their situations: Not all pets will work in all households, and
choosing a companion on the basis of "looks" or for
your children is a surefire recipe for disaster. Our commitment
is to providing for both the physical and emotional needs of the
animals.
We reserve the right to refuse adoption.
